Member Celebrations: Willie’s Employment Journey

Employment can be a powerful part of recovery, and for many members, it plays an active role in theirs.

When members come to AIM Center and begin setting goals, employment often comes up. Some have worked before but haven’t found the right fit. Others are just starting out and aren’t sure where to begin. Many simply need support navigating resumes, interviews, or the workplace. Through IPS, all of that is possible!

Willie, a Dietary Clerk at Sodexo, just celebrated one year on the job! He helps coordinate menus based on dietary needs, documents meal service, maintains equipment, and works closely with his team to deliver great service—something he takes real pride in. When asked how employment has impacted his mental health recovery, Willie shared:

“It’s made recovery so much better. I get to be salt and light. Salt, meaning we are supposed to be in this world, and light as in share the love of Christ with others.”

We love celebrating our members as they set goals and reach new milestones in their recovery. Whether it’s finding the right job, going back to work for the first time, or building confidence along the way, every step matters.
